Maryland's Republican Party Chairman commends our GOP Legislators and supports traditional marriage

Dear MD Republican Leaders,

With gay marriage legislation before the Maryland General Assembly, I have received a number of requests from legislators and central committee members for the GOP's official position on the issue. Since MDGOP does not have a standing platform, the state party defers to the RNC's platform, which explicitly spells out the RNC's position in support of traditional marriage. I've included the excerpt from the Republican platform below.

I want to commend the Republican members of the House of Delegates for so far remaining unified in their support for traditional marriage and thank them for their perseverance in staying true to this core GOP principle.
